About Us

Welcome!

This website is owned and maintained by Michelle L. Riley, d/b/a Alabama Notary and Process Server, and d/b/a Notaries for Alabama.

Alabama's notary laws changed July 1, 2021, allowing commissioned notaries to conduct a unique and complicated type of remote notarization, a/k/a Remote Ink-Signed Notarization.

Our organization will use this website to help educate the general public, notaries, and legal professionals about  process.  Michelle is one of a handful of Alabama notaries who have the training, knowledge and experience to correctly perform the only type of remote notarization authorized by the State of Alabama.

You can follow us here by reading our blog. We will also provide updates on our Notaries for Alabama Youtube Channel.

Alabama's Unique Remote Notarizations

Who Can Be a Remote Alabama Notary?

There are no special requirements or certifications. If you hold an active Alabama Notary Public Commission you can perform remote ink notarizations.

How is RIN different from RON?

Extremely different. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Alabama Remote Notaries are prohibited from using RON platforms that require electronic signatures, electronic seals and electronic certificates. Don't waste your time and money. Unfortunately, some RON companies won't tell you until after you have paid them for services you can't use.

The Most Challenging Part of the Notarization.

Alabama remote notaries are required to use three different methods of verifying a remote signer's identity. This takes time and patience.
